New TV series targets youth with anti- HIV/AIDS message
Hong Son (L) and Meritorious Artist Minh Hoa in a scene from the TV series Nha co nhieu cua so.
A new TV series launched this week will acquaint Vietnamese youth with important HIV/AIDS related issues including drug abuse and unsafe sex.

Nha co nhieu cua so (A house with many windows) tells the story of young members of an extended family who indulge in unsafe behaviors associated with the spread of the deadly virus and disease, and how they help each other through very difficult situations.

The series, telecast by the Viet Nam Television Film Center (VFC), is part of the HIV/AIDS Prevention Project of the General Department of Population and Family Planning and the Ministry of Health.

Produced by BBC World Service Trust scriptwriter Anji Loman Field, and People’s Artist Nguyen Khai Hung, the series has in its cast famous local actors and actresses including Hong Son who used to be an addict.

The anti-HIV/AIDS project was funded by many sponsors including the British and Japanese governments.

The first 26 episodes of the 106-episode series are being broadcast at 8 p.m. on VTV1 every Thursday and Friday. The remaining episodes will be telecast next year.
