According to organizers, every Vietnamese and foreigner residing in Vietnam can submit clothing designs to compete in the three-round contest, which is set to conclude on October 27.
Organizers said the works must embody the “Purity” theme of the competition – inspired by the purity of water – through the combination of color, material, and design.
The winner will receive a cash award of VND20 million (US$1,200) and have his/her collection introduced at the next Hong Kong Fashion Week.
The second and third runners-up will receive VND15 million and VND10 million respectively.
The winning clothing designs will also be displayed at the Phong Cach Va Dam Me (style and passion) fashion show, organizers said.
The deadline for first round submission is September 11, 2008.
Last year’s competition attracted 543 designs, including two submissions by foreigners.
