Cuban artists display paintings in HCMC
A visitor examines a work at an exhibition by two Cuban artists currently ongoing at the HCMC University of Fine Arts
An exhibition of 39 graphic paintings by two Cuban artists opened at the Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Arts on Tuesday.

William Hernandez Silva has 16 black and white landscape woodcuts on display, while Fabian Munoz Diaz produced 23 propaganda paintings comprising caricatures and illustrations.

“Through the paintings, we want Vietnamese people to learn more about Cuba and what is happening in Cuba,” Silva said.

The artists, both members of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), have shown their paintings at various domestic and international art exhibitions, university principal Nguyen Huy Long said at the opening ceremony of the event.

The exhibition, co-organized by the HCMC Union of Friendship Organizations, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Association and the Consulate General of Cuba in HCMC, aims to celebrate the 50th National Day of the Republic of Cuba and the 48th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Cuba.

The exhibition will remain open to the public at 5 Phan Dang Luu Street in Binh Thanh District until December 12.
