Standing deputy governor of the central bank Tran Minh Tuan awarded Khe the medal along with two other journalists, Tuoi Tre Editor-in-Chief Le Hoang and editor Pham Hong Thai, in Ho Chi Minh City.
It is the first time the state bank has bestowed medals to journalists.
Previously, Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Gia Khiem presented Khe with a Certificate of Merit for organizing the 20th Charming Vietnam Gala in London, England, for which Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung officially visited the UK, in March 2008.
