Summer camp for overseas Vietnamese opens this week
Overseas Vietnamese youths joined a bamboo dance at the 2004 Vietnam Summer Camp Program.
The Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs (COVA) and Ho Chi Minh City Youth Union will jointly organize a summer camp in the city for young overseas Vietnamese from July 23-26.

The organizers said the summer camp aims to help attendees gain a better understanding of the history and culture of the homeland and promote the country’s images to international counterparts.

During the four-day period, young overseas Vietnamese will visit historical sites, including the Cu Chi tunnels outside HCMC, in addition to participating in various activities.

The first summer camp for young overseas Vietnamese was held in 2004.

COVA said about three million overseas Vietnamese currently live in 90 countries and territories around the world.
