PM asks Hai Duong to develop industry, hi-tech farming
Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung said the northern province of Hai Duong should develop its industries, services and high-tech agriculture during a visit to the province yesterday.

The prime minister said Hai Duong needs to take advantage of its human resources and good transport infrastructure.

Dung said Hai Duong should also take advantage of its strategic position near the capital of Hanoi to develop the service sector and attract workers.

The province should make good use of its highland areas to develop industrial zones and trade villages, he said.

The prime minister said the locality could increase its high quality farm products by 30 percent if it minimized the use of fertile farmland for industrial purposes.

Dung said Hai Duong needs to focus on developing hi-tech industries and carefully minimize environmental pollution.

He also asked the provincial officials to develop services and create jobs for those affected by farmland reduction.
