Three packets of ice were seized along with 184 ecstasy pills, an electronic scale and several tools used for mixing the drugs with other substances.
The hotel room on Ho Van Hue Street in Phu Nhuan District had been rented by Tran Ngoc Thao, 32, from Tan Phu District.
Earlier on Tuesday night, police had arrested Thao who was carrying 21 tabs of ecstasy, while he was in front of the PS Bar in Tan Binh District.
They also found four packets of ice hidden in his motorbike.
Police said Thao was a major drug distributor to the bars in Tan Binh and Tan Phu Districts.
Thao has already served a six month sentence for a robbery and a three-year sentence for a prior drug possession charge. His latest incarceration ended in February.
