The central government recently approved the province’s VND238 trillion (US$14.74 billion) development plan until 2020, to boost industry, tourism and transport.
According to the plan, the province aims to spearhead the tourism industry, by beautifying landscapes, fostering eco-tourism in mountainous and coastal areas, and forming rail tourism links with Central Highlands provinces and Cambodia, Laos and Thailand.
Investment in industries such as electronics, oil refining, petrochemicals, shipbuilding, farm product processing, and electricity will be intensified, the website said.
The plan includes a new oil refinery with a four million ton annual capacity and the construction of petrochemical plants.
