Gov’t allows 12-seat buses in HCMC to continue running
The central government has permitted more than 700 twelve-seat passenger buses in Ho Chi Minh City to continue operating until their functional expiry date, the municipal Department of Transport said Sunday.

Earlier in September, HCMC People’s Committee had petitioned the central government to continue usage of mini buses, arguing that 51 percent of local streets were 7-12 meters wide and convenient for such vehicles.

The transport department is presently collaborating with Saigon Mechanical Transport Co. Ltd. to develop another means of public transport to gradually replace the 12- seat vehicles.
