Dong Hoi Airport, whose construction started on August 30, 2004, required a total investment of VND212 billion (US$13.3 million) from Northern Airports Authority.
The airport, which covers more than 4,250 square meters in Loc Ninh Commune, six kilometers from the town, is able to receive planes equivalent to Airbus-A321s and 500,000 passengers a year.
Vietnam Airline has decided to provide three flights a week on the route, starting July 18.
Fares will be VND750,000 ($47) one-way.
