Tourists fish at Binh An Lake
A tranquil hideaway from the raucous city life of Vietnam’s southern hub, Binh An Lake provides a break for weary urbanites wanting to wash their souls with a fresh breath of nature.

Located in the neighboring province of Binh Duong along the Hanoi Highway – only 40 minutes by motorbike or 30 minutes by car from downtown HCMC – Binh An, which means “peace” in English, is a four-hectare lake surrounded by groves of evergreen.

The lake and its environs offer numerous options for fishing, boating, dining, massage and sports.

Binh An Lake in Di An District, Binh Duong Province, attracts visitors with fresh air and fishing.

With its water source flowing from the Dong Nai River system, the lake is abundant with seven- and eight-kilogram fish.

At the price of VND32,000 (US$2) per rod and VND48,000 ($3) for a hut, fishing enthusiasts can while away the day in the country ambiance.

The restaurants bordering the lake serve a selection of dishes ranging from local cuisines to western-style meals.

Food is cooked on the spot and can be prepared as takeaway for fishing or boating trips.

The coffee shop sheltered under a leafy canopy is also one of the spots not to be missed to enjoy a delicious cool drink.

The mini hotels in the vicinity are designed according to the traditional structure of Central Highlands’ ethnic minorities, located both ashore and on the water.

Priced at an affordable VND64,000-VND96,000 ($4-$6) per day, visitors can indulge in a longer stay to savor a true vacation in this idyllic spot.

Along with nearby Suoi Tien Amusement Park, Buu Long Mountain and Lo O Spring, Binh An Lake provides all the attractions for a pleasurable getaway one won’t soon forget.
